Talley Farms is proud to introduce our new Biddle Ranch label!! It will be joining the already successful line up of Talley labels. Look for the Biddle Ranch name when considering your next Cilantro, Spinach, or Bell Pepper purchase. We look forward to working with our customers to create another successful Talley Farms label.

Ranch Barbeque
Once again, the end of the year barbeque was a big success here at Talley Farms. Employees from all divisions gathered to celebrate another safe and productive year on the farm. Before sitting down to a great meal employees were recognized for their commitment to safety and their loyalty to the company. Thirty-nine employees were honored for their 20+ years of service at Talley Farms including two with over 40 years of service.

Transition time of the year
With a couple of weeks left in our Coachella Bell Pepper season, we are looking ahead to our Winter program. In the coming weeks Nappa, Spinach, Cilantro, Romaine, Red and Green Leaf will take center stage in our daily harvest and sales. Brussels Sprouts season is looking good for a post Christmas kick-off. *** Please take note, our shipping hours have changed to our Winter hours. Monday through Friday 8am to 7pm, Saturday 8am to 5pm.

Coachella Green Bells
We're Back! Shipping Green Bell Peppers from Coachella and shipping out of Seaview Cooler 760-398-1585. We will be shipping the bells in the "Biddle Ranch" label. The season should run through the month of November. We are working on a possible Spring Bell Pepper harvest from Coachella, stay tuned.

Bell Pepper Season Kick Off
The "Coastal" Bell Pepper season has started. Dark green color, smooth skin and thick walls are the strong characteristics of the bells from Arroyo Grande. The early bells are looking outstanding!. If you need your bells packed in 1 1/9 bushel, Euro displays, RPC's, Bins, Face Packed, PLU's.....we do it all. Let us know what you need and let us pack these great bells for you.

Welcome Keston
Talley Farms would like to introduce Keston Giudici as the newest member of our sales department. He will be taking on the role of sales coordinator. Keston is a recent Cal Poly graduate who comes to Talley Farms after spending 7 months living and working abroad in Spain. He has deep family roots within the California agricultural community having grown up and worked in this family's agriculture business in King City.

Squash Season just around the corner
Our Green Zucchini and Yellow Straight Neck Squash season is forecast to start in mid June. Mother Nature is doing her part this week with warmer temperatures prevailing in California.

Brussels Sprout Season Approaching
We are forecasting the first harvest to be Monday December 27th. The quality is looking fantastic as the plants have loved the cooler temperature so far this winter, the rains of last week were slightly heavier than anticipated, but the plants have help up very well. Our acreage and production will be slightly higher than last season in an effort to fill all your needs. This season is forecast to run into the third of fourth week of March.

Seasonal Changes
As we move into December our focus on the farm will be the winter crops (Nappa, Spinach, Cilantro, Leaf and Brussels Sprout). Our Nappa, Spinach and Cilantro crops run year round. The Leaf program will run into the middle of December and the Brussels Sprout season will kickoff the week of December 20th. Our shipping hours also change this time of the year. Monday through Friday 8am to 7pm, Saturday will remain the same 8am-5pm

Organic Heirloom season in full swing!
Organic Heirloom tomato season is in full swing, shipping from Arroyo Grande. Recent warmer weather has brought on our production and we should see good numbers through November. 2010 is our fourth year growing the Organic Heirlooms and our pack and varieties have improved with each passing year.

Squash Season starting
Green Zucchini and Yellow Straight-neck squash will start shipping from Arroyo Grande the week of June 14th. After a cooler than normal April and May we are expecting the temperatures to start to climb starting this weekend. Our Zucchini acreages will be steady from last season and the Straight-neck acreage will be slightly higher with the addition of one extra planting.

Leaf Lettuce Harvest Starts April 12th
We will start our Leaf Lettuce season on Thursday, April 8th. The Leaf Lettuce will compliment our year round supplies of Nappa, Spinach and Cilantro. This season is starting later than normal due to the heavy rains in February which delayed our scheduled transplanting. The slight delay in time had the positive affect of allowing the lettuce to grow under warmer temperatures only enhancing the overall quality. We look forward to sending you our first of the season leaf lettuce.

Leaf Lettuce Harvest Starts Mid April
Romaine, Red Leaf & Green Leaf harvest is set for mid April kick-off. We are starting off late this year due to the winter rains disrupting our ability to transplant. Quality looks very good albeit slightly later than we would have liked.

Promotional volume available on Bell Peppers
Our Green Bell Pepper production has taken a big step forward this week. We will have strong promotional volume on all sizes now through October. Our next plantings of Organic Heirloom Tomatoes is forecasted to start the first week of October. We anticipate bigger volume than our spring deal.

Bell Pepper Season has started!
Green Bell Pepper harvest is underway in Arroyo Grande, CA. The Bells from Arroyo Grande are known for their dark color and thick walls. This season will be no exception. The season started July 27 with light volume. The volume will continue to increase over the coming weeks and will peak in the month of October. Bell Pepper harvest will continue into mid to late November.

Scholarships
Talley Farms and Talley Vineyards awarded 11 scholarships to employees' children and spouses for the 2009-2010 school year. This continues a program begun over 25 years ago. The Talley Family supports education and encourages our employees and their families to pursue educational opportunities.
